The Plains Peoples found many uses for the bison’s organs. Fluids from the brain and liver were used for tanning leather. The bladder could be made into a waterproof bag for carrying food and valuables. Cooking pots were made from bison stomachs. Even the intestines were cooked and eaten. Next Back
