The Klondike Gold Rush ended in 1899 when prospectors heard rumours about gold in Alaska. Many of them left Dawson and rushed to Alaska to find more gold. Although it lasted only three years, the Klondike Gold Rush produced nearly $50 million worth of gold. The gold bars shown here were worth over one-half million dollars.
