Despite many efforts, nothing of value has ever been retrieved from Oak Island. The treasure hunts have left piles of dirt and rubble in what now resembles a war zone. They have also left dozens bankrupt, and six dead from mysterious accidents. Nonetheless, the search continues. In 1989, a group of wealthy businessmen invested $10 million to dig a gigantic hole in the Money Pit area. If they succeed, the rewards could be worth billions of dollars.
